Tips & Tricks for Last Minute Holiday Shopping

Hey family!

I hope you're doing well and taking in all the sights, sounds, smells, and good feelings associated with the holiday season. Now that my graduation has passed (more about that in a different post) I'm blasting all the Christmas music I can.

If you're a procrastinator or you were broke until recently, both of which describe me perfectly, you're probably panicking right now because you haven't finished all your holiday shopping. So, while you're jamming along to Let It Snow (the Boyz II Men version because that's the best one) and frantically searching holiday ads here are a few tips and tricks to help you navigate that last minute shopping.

1. Go in with a mission

Nothing is worse for your wallet or your time than going into a store without knowing what you want. If you're in a rush to finish your holiday shopping, you don't have time to lolly gag so I suggest making a list of gift ideas for the people in your life and sticking to it. Know what stores you're going to shop at and what you plan to get out of them. If you can, look on the store's website and see if they have the item you're looking for in a store near you. This can save you a ton of time and make your shopping more efficient.

2. Be ye ready

While you're waiting in line, be ready. That means have your coupons and wallet ready. The lines are already extremely long and everyone is already in a rush. Nothing aggravates your fellow shoppers more than standing in a long line only to watch you go on a scavenger hunt for your wallet at the register. Also, make sure you're paying attention. When the cashier yells "NEXT," they mean it. Don't be that person who isn't paying attention and holding up the line.

3. Timing, Timing, Timing

You're not the only person who procrastinated shopping so you can expect long lines and packed parking lots. If you're not one for crowds I'd suggest steering away from the mall at peak times. That means Super Saturday, more affectionately known as Panic Saturday (the Saturday before Christmas), is a no go. In fact, most malls see high volumes of shoppers during the weekend so try to head out during the week. If you have the time try to go as soon as the store opens or earlier in the day instead of in the evenings.

Holiday shopping is one of my favorite things but I know how quickly it can turn stressful. Hopefully these tips will help you as you head out into the jungle. Happy shopping loves!

Stay Sassy,

Steph
